Chennai OpenCoffee Club

A place for the startup ecosystem around Chennai

Hi all,

Is there any sorta compilation of startups - that are part of the COCC. If not can we kick-start something on this line in order to actually add value to one another.

I have made a note of some of the startups - but then there are upwards of 1000 members and it would be nice if we could create a list like this. This list can be
# 1. Used to cross pollinate capabilities and access to market strategies.
# 2. Identify and hire resources?
# 3. Visibility to VCs and Angel Investors!
# 4. Group Bonding and sharing of Ideas
# 5. Networking relationships etc
# 6. Find Mentors and/or Mentees

What say??????

Great idea Sailesh. Let's do it. We need to form a core team for this.

Ranjit,

Have already initiated, Dorai's suggestion, but would take a while to get my head around it. Why not you start with your company:

Company Name:
Company URL
Promoter,
Email (if you're interested)
Contact No (if your're interested)
Line of activity

Shailesh,
Good idea. But why not first start with the names of the companies and tags that identify them? A little more of the collective intelligence of the group.

People who start in one list may want to be in others too. So basically companies and startups with a set of tags to describe them.

Here is one option. Please create a public list in Twitter something like chennaiorgs or chennaicos. Every one can add themselves to the list.

Will check whether Ning has an easy way to create a list of a database.

That's a neat concept, not a twitterbug yet, whats the harm in trying.

Will look it up and then go about creating something.

Dorai,

Have created a Public List called ChennaiStartups.

URL: http://twitter.com/Quidels/ChennaiStartups.

Disclaimer: I am new to twitter, so will have to learn how to organise the list as we go along.

Request those of you willing to enlist to start at the url mentioned above.

Regards
Shailesh

shilesh,
Thanks. The Twitter list just gets us a list of people. Hopefully their company names are in their profile. Otherwise we need to come up with a scheme.

Any one, any ideas? (I have a couple but would rather hear from others first).

Aren't there a couple of wikis that have a list like this?

Do you know of any? We can then update them.

Here is one - http://enbase.net/index.php/Main_Page

If I remember right there were a couple more too, but can't quite find them

Siddharta,

Any idea on when the list was compiled, would give a perspective. Also as COCC, would like to see how

# 1. we can increase interaction and
# 2. learn from one another's mistakes (try not to repeat them)

The list above does little to increase any sorta interaction and spur learning.

It was compiled about a year ago, the link was circulated to the various OCC in india
