eFarm is a Chennai based start-up, which has established a Farm to Home supply chain platform, for procuring and delivering farm based produce in a transparent, economical and efficient manner. eFarm was founded in the year 2008 by Mr. Venkat Subramanium (M.S. Computer Science, Albany University, NY & B.Arch, IIT Kharagpur, 1995), who after 12 years of experience in the IT Industry turned into a Social Entrepreneur.

eFarm is an initiative which aims to tackle the agrarian crisis which the country faces today. In spite of improvements in crop yields , the entire supply chain from the farmer to the consumer has become completely unprofitable and unorganized, characterized by high price escalation from the farmer to the end consumer, price fluctuations and high wastages.

eFarm provides a simple solution by organizing and managing this unorganized sector through effective supply chain management.eFarm ties in farmers, intermediaries, logistics providers, distributors, small time retailers, all the way upto your local road side vendor into a single chain backed up by the best breed of information systems to deliver fresh, clean, low priced farm produce. The initiative thus delivers a strong social value along with achieving its business objectives.

eFarm is completing about a year and a half of operatons . We have established good inroads into rural areas of Tamilnadu , dealing in over 40 different varieties of vegetables and fruits in just the pilot phase. In the city side (Chennai metro) we have already established steady customer base across a wide market spectrum - from the slums & local markets , to high end boutique shops . Our customers include well known hospitals, canteens, caterers, hotels . We are currently venturing into the high premium segments of exports and organics as well.
