Mini Workshops on Resume Writing and Job Interview handling
Career Cats presents 2 Mini-Workshops, one on how to write your Resume differenly and the other on using unconventional methods to crack Interviews.
Senior Management people in the corporate world read thousands of resumes every year and interview hundreds of people from these resumes. It is a tiring job, believe me. It is a tough decision to even shortlist 5 resumes from a bunch of 20 and to hire 2 people from these 5. And if the resume looks like any other resume, it doesn’t make life easy for the Employer. Nor does it help when after the interview the Interviewer doesn’t even remember the face of the candidate, leave alone remembering what was so distinct about him/her.
The 2 half-day workshops are designed to help you counter that situation!
1) Creating Offbeat Resumes : where I will share techniques on how your resume can get the employer’s attention, especially when he is sifting through a huge pile of resumes and yours has exactly 10 seconds to get his attention! These techniques may not necessarily get you the job, but they are sure to jump out and get the reader’s attention. Which sometimes is enough to get called for that interview!
2) Cracking Interviews - The Lateral Way: You’ve set high expectations with the Interviewer when you gave a super-interesting Resume. Hey - he’s looking forward to meet you. The onus now is on you to live upto those expectations.. and leave a mark. The techniques you will learn here will certainly get you noticed and remembered. Again – no guarantee of a job, but guaranteed to increase your odds of getting the job.
And remember cracking Resumes and Interviews is not just about GETTING selected, it’s also about charging a PREMIUM on your salary and creating a higher VALUE for yourself. So that they get the candidate they want (YOU) and you get the salary YOU want. So important in these days of economic slowdown when you have run faster to stay in the same place..
