A place for the startup ecosystem around Chennai
Cross selling across start ups
One of the major handicaps a start up may have is the inabiity to spend a lot of money to network or host a link in other website that may have a tag to the product/service we have to offer.
The one idea we hit upon when we found that each of us(a communication start up, a homeloan start up, a security start up) could do was to host a link to each other so that visitors to one site had an opportunity to know about the other service provider.
It was also great that we were not competitors to each other in the same business community but were having features that would enhance the business of the other. For example, the home loan start up gave a voice contact us link thru us so that visitors to his site could leave a voice message - a query, feedback, suggestions, complaint, etc in voice to the home loan start up. This was a unique feature to their website which many customers of this start up appreciated.
In this way folks in the start up community should actively propogate each other - this in turn always yields positive results.

Comment by srinivas k vedula on July 6, 2009 at 10:13am - Yes,Hyderabadstartups collectively are developing a web site where all the products of startups enrolled in their Startupgroup will be featured . I exactly dont know the status nut the beta test of this site was planned in June July 09.

Dear Priya,
It's nice idea but the population who gets targetted may be limited in my opinion as it will be restricted to people who are into startups and who follow web sites like cocc, Instead if all these startups can be uploaded in a single web site portal and promote the portal collectively the results will be good.
