How can we protect start ups from failing...?

I recently encountered a startling statistic that 90% of businesses that start up either close down or change hands within 1000 days. It is said that acid test for any start up is the first 1000 days (more crucial first 500 days...). The first 500 days is the time when reality hits wildly in the face and all ambitions start crashing one by one. The desperation to hold on, suffocation to escape puts great test on the zeal, passion of any entrepreneur.

But, good news is that if we hold on the acid test & show to inner self strenght to face rough winds start ups come out surviving. Good news is patience always pays off. Each one of us face challenges of various type and magnitude in first 1000 days... can any one share their experiences and how they have overcome them...?

Hi Kalyan, sure, this will be useful for people who step out into the dark jungle of startups. From my experience, I can say, that my passion for the business carried me through. My attention was on the financials (which was really testing during the first 3 years) too, but Focus was on how to make a difference in the market with my presence. As time rolled by, the grit became stronger which I suppose made the financials healthy... Looking back, I know I did the right thing. To follow my passion. Thanks..
